Top Team Development

As team coaches we bring our experience as business people as well as our skill at working with sensitive, interpersonal dynamics. Building on strengths and getting to the heart of what needs to be improved ensures that the team applies its talents and skills optimally to get a great result both on the organisational and the personal level.

There is simply no room for self-importance, silo mentality, or hierarchical thinking. Good management teams distinguish themselves through their ability to engage in positive and robust dialogue and reach actionable results.

Good team work requires effective relationships between team members as well as constructive rules of engagement that operate when the team meets. We contribute to both. Effective relationships are built outside team meetings, so we coach individuals on their behaviours and relationships as a complement to moderating team meetings.

We propose both collective support (facilitation of offsites, fly-on-the-wall participation in monthly meetings…) and individual coaching, where a team member can be coached on certain personal and group behaviours outside the direct environment of the team.

This combination of individual and team coaching has proven to be a particularly powerful tool in fostering management development.

Engaging with strategy

A key role of top teams is to continuously shape and redirect strategy. As part of this process we facilitate away-days to create clarity around strategic issues and develop meaningful engagement within the team. As former senior executives, and experienced in coaching, our coaches are ideally equipped to facilitate meetings of senior leadership teams.

Feedback

An integral part of our team development model is the process of giving and receiving feedback. We know that people prefer to be given feedback in private so they can absorb and work on it. One-to-one feedback sessions are central to good team development.

Long haul process

We strongly believe that team development is a long haul process, which is why we rarely propose offsite facilitation without some form of structured follow-up to ensure that new practices are anchored in daily reality so that there is a meaningful long term engagement. All our team coaching is tailored to the organization and its particular context and needs.
